Day 1: Trichy Arrival – Sightseeing
Today morning, arrive at Trichy Railway Station/Airport, check in at the hotel and after refreshment, begin your sightseeing with the divine Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam – one of the largest functioning Hindu temples in the world. Next, visit the historic Rock Fort Temple, perched on a 273-foot high rock with panoramic views. Continue to the ancient Jambukeswarar Temple, one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams representing water. Conclude the day with a serene visit to Kallanai (Grand Anicut) – an engineering marvel built by the Chola dynasty. Overnight stay at Trichy.
Day 2: Trichy – Tanjore (60km/1.5hrs)
Today morning after breakfast and checkout, proceed to Tanjore (Thanjavur). On arrival, check in at the hotel and after refreshment, visit the majestic Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple), a UNESCO World Heritage Site and symbol of Chola architectural brilliance. Later, explore Thanjavur Palace, Saraswathi Mahal Library, and the Art Gallery, showcasing Chola bronzes and traditional Tanjore paintings. Evening leisure walk through Sivaganga Park. Overnight stay at Tanjore.
Day 3: Tanjore – Dharasuram – Gangaikonda Cholapuram – Trichy Drop
Today morning after breakfast and checkout, we proceed to Dharasuram to visit the stunning Airavatesvara Temple, another UNESCO site built by Raja Raja Chola II, known for its intricate stone carvings. Later, continue to Gangaikonda Cholapuram, where you’ll explore the Brihadeeswarar Temple (Gangaikondacholisvarar), a majestic monument built by Rajendra Chola I. After exploring these architectural marvels, return to Trichy and drop at Railway Station/Airport as per your departure schedule.
