Day 1: Trichy Arrival – Sightseeing
Today morning, arrive at Trichy Railway Station/Airport, check in at the hotel and after refreshment, begin local sightseeing of Tiruchirapalli (Trichy). Visit the sacred Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam, renowned for its spiritual significance and grand architecture. Then proceed to the iconic Rock Fort Temple, perched atop a rocky hill with stunning city views. Later, visit the ancient Jambukeswarar Temple, representing the water element among the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams. End the day with a visit to Kallanai (Grand Anicut) – one of the oldest functioning water-diversion structures in the world, built by the Chola King Karikalan over 2,000 years ago on the Cauvery River. Evening leisure for shopping at Chinna Kadai Street. Overnight stay at Trichy.
Day 2: Trichy – Tanjore (60km/1.5hrs)
Today morning after breakfast and checkout, proceed to Tanjore (Thanjavur). En route, if time permits, visit Uraiyur Vekkali Amman Temple. On arrival at Tanjore, check in at the hotel and after refreshment, visit the magnificent Brihadeeswarar Temple (Big Temple) – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a masterpiece of Chola architecture. Later, visit Thanjavur Palace, Saraswathi Mahal Library, and the Art Gallery, which showcases traditional Tanjore paintings, bronze idols, and historic manuscripts. Spend the evening at Sivaganga Garden. Overnight stay at Tanjore.
Day 3: Tanjore Sightseeing – Trichy Drop
Today morning after breakfast, visit Punnainallur Mariamman Temple, a popular pilgrimage site near Tanjore. You may also explore local handicraft stores to see authentic Tanjore paintings and art. Later, return to Trichy, where you’ll have time for final shopping or leisure depending on your schedule. Drop at Trichy Railway Station/Airport as per your departure.
